The Munich songwriter with a new concert programme "Weltenbrand"
Konstantin Wecker will appear at the Kursaal Arena Bern with the Bayerische Philharmonie chamber orchestra on 9 December 2019 with his new programme "Weltenbrand" conducted by Mark Mast.
Many have long associated the Munich songwriter with the violin, viola and cello just as much as with his piano and voice. All these people should be excited about the significant "Weltenbrand" concert. Konstantin Wecker and Mark Mast have been working together for almost 20 years, including the première of Wecker's "Carmina bavariae" during the Orff days of the Bayerische Philharmonie. In 2019, Konstantin Wecker and Mark Mast reunited on stage to celebrate the songwriter's global dream of a non-hierarchical world through old and new songs, including "Weltenbrand", "Empört euch" and "Hexeneinmaleins", which he composed in the '70s for orchestral accompaniment.
Konstantin Wecker inherited his passion for music from his father. Always and for ever. His dedication to classical music has him just as firmly in its grip as his fear of an unfeeling world that is growing colder. That is why Konstantin Wecker again raises his voice against war and the threat of fascism in "Weltenbrand". One thing is for sure. Anyone who knows the self-confessed pacifist and holder of the 2018 Göttingen Peace Prize, knows that he will spread no fear in spite of the bleak-sounding title. On the contrary, he spreads courage and zest for life. Backed up by the extraordinary power and wonderful sounds of a phenomenal orchestra.
