For the first time, this concert event combines the brilliant film soundtrack with the gripping songs of the worldwide musical success of the same name.
The Oscar-winning soundtrack by film music legend Hans Zimmer has been shaping the globally successful animated film The Lion King for 27 years now: African rhythms and sounds paired with monumental, epic melodies. Added to this are the poignant hits by Sir Elton John: Hakuna Matata, Circle Of Life, Can You Feel The Love Tonight.
Hardly any other film soundtrack connects entire generations with so many personal emotions and memories as Disney's "The Lion King". The story of the lion cub Simba, who sets out to find his place in the eternal cycle of life. An archaic basic structure in which almost all of us can find ourselves!
The musical world success, based on the film but expanded with a large number of new songs, led to an indescribable run on the coveted tickets. The stage realisation with the unbelievably ingenious and novel costumes for the animal actors has lost none of its magic to this day, 20 years after the premiere.
80 performers, soloists, choir and orchestra, from the Cinema Festival Symphonics under the direction of Steven Ellery from London, have already thrilled audiences with their performances of "Game of Thrones", "Star Wars" and "Harry Potter". The ensemble is known for their emotional, faithful, sonorous sound!
